Counselling and Psychotherapy

In my counselling work, I take a Person-Centred approach as I put your needs and values at the centre of our therapy. I understand that we are complex beings, each with unique needs, and therefore an integrated psychotherapeutic approach is necessary. I draw on a range of techniques and approaches such as Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Gestalt, Internal Family Systems, dream and symbol work, and Narrative Therapy depending on your needs.

People who may get the most out of their experience with me are those who want to feel genuinely cared for in a calm, open space, by a therapist who treats you as an individual with your own complex and meaningful story. I will ensure that I support and advocate for your well-being. I am passionate about maintaining an unbiased, culturally-attuned environment of equality and welcome all to this space.

I work with you to identify your strengths and build upon them to help you lead a more fulfilling and satisfying life. My focus is on creating a safe and comfortable environment within our therapeutic relationship, supporting you with emotional regulation, developing coping strategies, building resilience and self-esteem, and growing skills for functioning and overall well-being. If you are looking for a therapist who will treat you as an individual with your own unique story, I am here to support you.

Neurodiversity

In my work with neurodiversity, I use a holistic approach that takes into consideration your unique neurotype, your sensory profile and individual needs. Through our therapy sessions, I will help you to develop coping strategies, build resilience and self-esteem, and develop skills for functioning and overall well-being. My goal is to empower you to feel safe and grounded within yourself and the world around you, so that you can thrive in your life.

In my previous work experiences, I have helped children and families understand Autism and ADHD, and led group play-based therapy sessions, which informs my current work as a therapist. I maintain a neurodiverse-affirming and strength-based perspective aimed at destigmatizing neurodiversity. I have had the privilege of working with individuals who are autistic and ADHD, supporting them in managing challenges related to Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria (RSD), Reward Deficiency Syndrome (RDS), Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) and other common neurodiverse experiences.

As a therapist, I recognize and embrace the uniqueness and complexity of neurodiverse minds. I understand that neurodiverse people process information differently and may face different challenges in their daily lives. Therefore, my approach embraces and celebrates neurodiversity, emphasizing the recognition and cultivation of your unique strengths, resources, and abilities. I work to create a safe and accepting space where you can show up as your authentic self and explore your experiences without fear of judgment.

ECOPSYCHOTHERAPY

For clients who are interested in exploring the relationship between your inner world and the natural world, I offer ecopsychotherapy sessions where I bring a unique perspective to the therapeutic relationship by incorporating nature and the environment into the healing process.

I believe that connecting with nature can have a profound impact on our well-being, and can be particularly beneficial for those experiencing anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. In my work with clients, I draw on ecotherapy techniques such as mindfulness in nature, to help individuals connect with the natural world around them. I also integrate somatic techniques, which focus on the physiological experiences of the body, to deepen the connection with nature and provide a holistic approach to healing.

Through ecopsychotherapy, I help clients to develop a sense of connection and belonging with nature, which can lead to a greater sense of purpose, resilience, and inner peace.
